Jaxon let his hands fall away from his red, burning eyes as he turned his face towards her's. "Of course I love you, Naveah," he said weakly, his voice cracking. "That's something I wouldn't ever lie to you about." He rolled to his side so he could give her a kiss and folded his arms up against his chest.
"I may not get better, but you're like a bandaid. As long as you're here, I feel protected," he said after a few minutes of silence.

Naveah smiled when he kissed her. She looked at him with wide eyes, getting brighter by the second. Her heart soared, and she felt like she was flying, on top of the world. As long as he loved her... she would be alright. She'd survive on her own, she knew that, but having someone who loved her... that felt good. It felt like she was whole, for once, as if she was never entirely finished until Jaxon came along and finished the puzzle that was her life. When he pulled away from that kiss, she leaned in, her nose grazing the side of his, her lips poised above his for a moment. "We'll protect each other, then," she murmured, forehead meeting his as she closed her eyes and breached the gap between them, her mouth connecting with his.

Jaxon kissed her back, but sort of started giggling. "I'm sorry I blew up just after having sex," he said, a broad, toothy smile breaking out across his face. "Why don't you go finish your cocoa?" he added, just as another crash of thunder rang out. He sat up.
"Maybe I should get some candles out.. just in case my," he suddenly switched to a Russian accent for no apparent reason, "MILLIONS OF LIGHTS GO OUT!" he spread his hands out above him, then stood, kissed Naveah on the forehead, and went to the other end of the studio where a large chest sat. He opened it and began digging through, pulling out candle after candle.

Naveah smiled when he mentioned the cocoa, and sat up. She was about to move to get it when the thunder started up again and she winced. Biting her lip as she always did when she was nervous, she slowly got to her feet, testing the floor beneath her as if it would drop out at any second, just because it was raining. Taking the mug from the kitchen counter, she sprinted for the couch and sat down quickly, drawing her knees to her chest immediately. She watched him take the candles out, and a thought dawned on her.
"Hey, Jax, why don't we just light the candles and turn out some of the lights?" She said some on purpose, knowing his thing about the dark. "I like candle light. I think it's pretty and... comforting. And I hate storms." She shuddered, hiding her face in her knees. "If you've ever been to Japan during hurricane season..." she whispered. "It's... it's pretty bad there. I spent my time in Okinawa, and it rained so hard and..." she didn't want to talk about it. *Ooc// that's his cue to have her talk about it xD*

Jaxon looked up whens he mentioned turning out the lights. "Sure just lemme get these candles started first, so I don't have to do it in the dark," he said, looking around as if the lights were going to just suddenly go out. With that thought in mind, he quickened his pace as he scooped out and entire armful of candles and dumped them on the coffee table in front of the couch Naveah had sat down on. He removed a box of matches from the trunk next and began straightening out the candles so he could light them.
"You were in Okinawa? That's so cool! What was it like?" he asked, hoping she wouldn't shy away from his question.
After flipping the candles all right side up, Jaxon lit a match but quickly put it out. He closed his eyes out of frustration. "Breath," he whispered under his breath to himself, fighting off the visions of Gray lying in the ashes. Slowly, he reached for another match and lit it, then brought it to the wick of the closest candle.

Naveah smiled, thinking back to Okinawa. "Japan was... well, it was wonderful. Definitely nothing like Mexico, but I loved it." She thought back to all the adventures she had... learning about the history of Okinawa island was fascinating. She especially liked the siisaa, guardian dragon of Okinawa. "Oh, there were so many nice people, and they all treated me kindly. I spent days at the beach and I learned a lot - I can even speak some Japanese here and there. They took me all around the city, shopping, site-seeing, we even went..." she stopped, then started again, laughing a little over it. "Swimming." She shook her head, thinking about it. "Yeah, I almost died, swimming in Japanese water. That's something to tell the kids." she rolled her eyes.
Trying to distract herself from the memory, she glanced at Jaxon and noticed his hesitation over the candle. She inhaled sharply and reached out to take his hand, softly. "You don't have to... I mean, I could do it or - if you don't like... candles." She remembered his story clearly, and the thought of Gray hadn't came into her mind until she mentioned dying and... well, she knew his story.

"That's okay, I got it," he said cautiously, actually not at all comfortable with lighting these candles. He kept them in a trunk for a reason: he never used them. He much preferred light bulbs. But seeing as the electricity had gone out.. candles were all he had right now so he lit another one.
"What do you mean you almost died swimming in Japanese waters?" he asked, turning his head to her after he put out a match and brought the unlit candles to the already lit ones so he wouldn't have to light anymore matches. Fire and water.. what a great conversation this was going to be. He hated fire because of, well, Gray and he hated water just because he never learned how to swim. Couldn't they talk about something he liked? Like.. Star Wars or something?
After lighting the last few candles, Jaxon stood and went to sit beside Naveah.
(i.. i don't remember if he's still naked.. so let's just say he's got some sweats on now)

Naveah shrugged, feeling awkward about bringing it up. "I'm not the best swimmer," she laughed, then looked at him with bright eyes. She was feeling particularly elated, for no apparent reason. Perhaps it was the fact that she was hanging out with Jaxon, perhaps it was because what they had done earlier... she just knew that she felt happy, extremely so. "What about you? Can you swim well?" She wanted to strike up conversation, pick a safe topic or something, but everything seemed to be coming out a little wrong. She was just too hyper, pumped up on nerves, and things were popping out of her mouth. She hoped Jax would just realize she was being awkward because, well, that was her!
