Jaxon purred lightly and smiled at Naveah, putting on his best Ryan Gosling smolder look. "Kinda reminds me of our first kiss," he said, biting his lower lip.
What he'd turned into in the past couple years was something he'd never thought he'd be. Years and years ago, Jaxon swore to himself that he'd never let anybody in. He swore it would hurt too much. Having lost someone so close.. and then feeling the pain of losing everyone else too.. he wasn't ready to deal with that. And when Heather happened.. oh god when Heather happened...
But here he was, kissing his girlfriend. His girlfriend. That was something he'd only ever said twice before, once to this very girl. It was all so thrilling, knowing that she was his and he was hers. He had nothing to worry about with her in his arms.

When he pulled away, she grinned at him, realizing that she was finally on his level - normally, she had to look up at him, since he was at least a foot taller. Sitting on the counter, they were face to face, and she couldn't glance away from him. Her full attention was focused on the man who was her first kiss, the one who made her feel so real and alive every time she thought of him. "Our first kiss..." She laughed a little at the memory. "Who would have thought that it would happen? It was so sudden and..." she sighed, feeling euphoric. "Amazing."
Leaning in, she put her arms on his shoulders, lacing her fingers behind his neck. At the random moment of silence, she realized just the compromising position they were in - her legs wrapped around his back and all. She blushed and pulled away slightly, so that they weren't so close together. "We should probably go back to that dinner," she whispered, embarrassed. Even after their most intimate night together, she still felt awkward being that open with him.

"Aw so soon?" Jaxon whimpered through a smile. But alas, he picked her up and set her back down, feet on the ground again. "So I have to tell you something," he started, very seriously. "I lied. I don't at all know how to cook meatballs." Looking up, he smiled at her lightly to prove that he wasn't really at all sad about that lie.
That's when Jaxon realized something.
He really, truly, deeply loved Naveah. With all his heart. It was as if time froze for a moment as Jaxon stood, just watching her. That sparkle in her eyes, her long dark hair, the way she carried herself. She was wonderful. And she was his. All his.
"How am I so lucky?" he asked after a couple minutes. "How am I, one of a million students to walk into Foxhurst Academy's library, the lucky boy that stumbled across you?"

Naveah smiled awkwardly as he helped her down. She had kind of ruined the moment, but it wasn't like they could do much now - dinner was cooking, anyway. She turned to the pot on the stove when he mentioned he couldn't cook meatballs. "That's alright," she laughed good-naturedly. "I've got the Italiano part for now. You just sit there and look pretty."
She had turned to throw him a cheeky wink when she noticed his gaze. Her cheeks turned a little pink at the intensity of his stare. It left her spellbound, looking into his eyes, in awe of him. She leaned forward a little and couldn't help but give him a peck on the lips. She loved the way he looked at her, like she was the only thing in the world that mattered to him. It made her feel special, and appreciated. She felt loved, and it made her heart soar and her spirits fly. She felt whole with Jax, in a way she had never felt before.
"I don't know," she stepped away from the meatball pot, not even caring that they were becoming a little too brown. "I think it was sort of meant to happen. How was I so lucky as to bump into you, and have my first kiss at the most wonderful, random time ever?"

"I dunno," Jax smiled at her. "Guess we're both just two lucky little monkeys, eh?" Turning, Jaxon left the 'kitchen' and walked towards the bed area. He sat at the edge, kicking his feet up like a child as he gripped the bed spread. Being with Naveah was like.. living in the sun. Not all the darkness in the world could put out her light. And that made him feel safe.
But Heather just didn't stay out of his head.. when and how the fuck was he going to tell Naveah about the fact that he'd, oh y'know, killed a girl? That was certainly gonna be a story for the kids..
As the thought crossed his mind again, Jaxon pouted, his fingers tightening on the bed sheets.

As Jaxon walked out, Naveah kept her eye on him while continuing to cook. She noticed his frown, and a mimicking frown set upon her lips, but she didn't want to bring it up. Instead, she continued to cook the meatballs, noodles, and pasta sauce. When it was done, she put it on plates and set them on the table, then turned to find Jaxon sitting on her bed. Smiling, she sauntered over, her two-inch heels making her walk turn into a swaying of her hips. She bent down over him and planted a kiss on his lips, then sat herself in his lap, hands on his shoulders.
"Dinner's ready," she murmured, grinning cheekily. She wasn't in any particular mood to do anything special - she just wanted to hang out with Jaxon, no matter what they were doing. But sitting in his lap, she couldn't help but feel a little devilish, and wondered what Jax would think of her doing something so bold. They were the geeky couple, doing meek things and enjoying fake witch craft - and here she was making him dinner and getting comfortable on top of him.

Jaxon didn't respond when Naveah mentioned dinner. He heard it, yes, and in his head he'd said thank you and even I love you. But here he sat, just thinking. But her gaze eventually broke his stare as he looked up at her. She always brought him back.
"Well look at you getting cozy," he said with an awkward giggle, thoughts still lingering. "Let's not get to feisty before dinner," he added, smiling as he let go of his grip on the sheets and instead ran the hand back through her hair. "Smells great, boo."

She let him have his thoughts for a moment, and just sat there in the comfortable silence, smiling at him. She was used to these moments, where the world just stopped and they could look at each other. It didn't matter what they were thinking... they were together. She particularly enjoyed this moment, as she was in his lap and comfortable with being so close to him. Holding him, sitting with him, any form of being with him made her feel comfortable. She smiled when he snapped out of whatever thought process he was going through, and sighed a heavy sigh.
"Oh, fine, we'll save the feisty fun for later." She teased, gave him a wink, and made a big show about being slow and reluctant to get off of him. Standing on her feet, she gave him a tilted grin and carefully fixed her shirt and shorts, making sure she looked perfect - she didn't want to seem ruffled or too mussed up. "I'm glad you think it smells good - I'm hoping it tastes good." She took his hand in hers and lead him towards the small table in her kitchen, gesturing for him to take a seat. "Do you want a drink?"

"I'm sure it'll taste even better than it smells," he purred, kissing her hand as she took his and guided him to the table. Taking a seat, Jaxon patted his jeans down a bit, flattening out the wrinkles that had gathered near his upper thigh. "Yea I'd love one," he said, looking up. "Whatcha got?"
He really hated how spacey he was. It was like his brain was bipolar. One moment, Jaxon loved life and loved Naveah and loved just being here in her arms. But in seconds, that moment was gone as he thought about the past, the past she hadn't been a part of. It was funny, really, to think that only the good moments in his life were with her. Everything else, before and after, had been utter shit, for lack of a better word.

Smiling to herself, Naveah took a moment to appreciate Jaxon. He was the best guy a girl could wish for. Her first kiss, first best friend, first boy friend... first love. Sure, he had his flaws, but she had hers as well, and the beauty of the couple was that they ignored their imperfections and focused on their happiness with each other. "Uh," snapping out of her admiration of him, she turned to the fridge and opened it up. "I've got... grape juice, water, milk... raspberry soda... oh!"
She turned towards him as she pulled a bottle of Arak out of the fridge. "And since I'm officially able to buy my own alcoholic beverages, I bought a bottle of Arak for myself as a treat." She hoped he would get the reason the highly alcoholic drink was a treat - because it was the drink they shared on their first date, and she had enjoyed its "magical" affects of changing color. "Would you like some?" She asked, pulling out two tumbler glasses.

Jaxon giggled when Naveah pulled out the Arak. "You have quite a memory," he said through a toothy smile. "I'll just have a little.. cuz that grape juice sounded pretty good too," he added, still smiling. He'd almost forgotten about their crazy first date! The dancing, the alcohol, the weird food... it all made him smile. He was about to tell her again how beautiful she was when he noticed her pot. It was making some unnaturally high pitched noises, the lid clanking around the rim.
"Hey uh.. is it just me or is something wrong with the noodles?" he asked, craning his neck to see just as the lid flew off and the water began bubbling over the sides. "Oh shit," he sort of laughed, flying up from his chair to turn down the fire.

Naveah smiled and poured small amounts of Arak into each of their glasses, pouring the water in to reduce the alcohol content. Then she put them on the table, and was about to turn to the fridge to grab the grape juice, which she was going to set out for later, when Jaxon mentioned the noodles. She turned just in time to see the pot boiling over before she heard the bubbling. "Oh, no," she moaned, putting a hand on her forehead.
Moving to investigate the pot, now that the flame on the stove was turned off, she realized with horror that dinner was going to be meatballs and pasta sauce, a perfect Italian meal - sans noodles. She drained the pot of its boiling water into the sink, and cleared the sticky mess of overdone pasta into the trash. Then she turned to Jax, cheeks tinged pink with mortification. "I am so sorry, Jaxon," she mumbled, looking awkwardly at her feet. "I didn't watch the pot, I ruined dinner."

"Oh shush you didn't ruin dinner!" Jaxon smiled as he hugged her, then backed away a bit and tilted her chin up to look at him. "I should've been watching it cuz you were getting drinks. If anyone's, its my fault." He smiled at her more then kissed her nose. "I'm not even that hungry anyway," he added wit a smirk before reaching to the counter and grabbing the glass she'd pored for him. "Anyways I'm pretty sure you had.. other plans?" he asked suggestively before swallowing the Arak in one gulp.

Naveah wrinkled her nose when he kissed her, and looked up at him with a half smile upon her lips. "How about we don't blame anyone, and just enjoy our night?" She suggested, and copied his drinking style. The Arak was like fire on its way down, but the kind of fire that was pleasurable. It was sort of acidic, and the fruity taste was a tangy surprise that she had missed - she hadn't drank any of the Arak since she had got it, saving it for this night with him. When he said he wasn't that hungry, she couldn't help but grin, because she knew he was suggesting they could go back to what she had been planning previously - something that involved them being close together and having "feisty fun."
"Mmm, other plans. Sure," she smiled at him cheekily and stepped away for a moment, firing up her laptop which was sitting on the desk nearby. She pulled up her Youtube account and found her playlist of songs. In a second, an almost salsa-style song was playing. It had a fast beat, and yet it was still moderately slow enough to dance traditionally. It wasn't actually a salsa song, but it had undertones of Latino and Spanish music styles. Naveah spun around and struck a pose, one hand in the air, one hip jutted out, biting her lip and grinning.
She danced her way over to him and grabbed his hands. "I know I suck at dancing, but I thought it'd be fun..." she murmured, and leaned up to kiss him, taking a step forward to close the distance between them enough so that there was only about an inch of space between her chest and his.

Jaxon placed his hands on her lower back, smiling down at her as the two of them swayed back and forth. "That's okay, I'm not a good dancer either," he said, kissing her nose again. It was such an easy target and it always seemed to make her smile so cutely. "What's this song? Its got a cool beat," he said, not really caring, just trying to make small talk a bit so their awkward dancing wasn't all that awkward.
She felt so good in his arms. So close, almost one. They'd danced maybe once before.. but this was different. Now it was just them. No band, no other people sitting around watching. It was just them, in Naveah's apartment, with a few glasses of alcohol and that lingering smell of Italian meatballs simmering away. He loved it.
