Val could have sworn her heart had literally skipped a beat the second Austin had kissed her. She hadn't seen that coming, having been caught off guard, her cheeks turning red (thank god for the dimmed lights in the room). She raised her eyebrows as she looked at Austin, opening her mouth to answer, blinking, then laughed at his question when she processed it more, "Wasps?"
"More like, a jolt of electricity?" she squinted, thinking of the right way to describe it. She let out a breath, slightly dazed, "Why, what'd it do for you?"

A jolt of electricity? That was far more than Austin had expected. He laughed, "That's good. I meant wasps because you know how butterflies feel really good but if you have wasps inside of your stomach then that's painful." he winced jokingly before smiling softly.
Austin then thought for a second, "It gave me adrenaline and that was different." he said with a soft smile. "Made me feel like a daredevil." he said with a strong playful tone. He then leaned in once again but this time he kissed her a little longer. His hands went up to her back and his finger gently caressed her skin.

Val breathed in through the kiss, her arms instinctively snaking around his neck, and she was suddenly very aware that she was wearing a stripper outfit. Well, not so much wearing, than, barely wearing. When she pulled away, she kept her arms around him, and couldn't help but laugh, "Does the fact that I'm a stripper bother you at all, or...?" she glanced down at the tiny Santa outfit she'd been wearing and had nearly taken off in front of him earlier.
This was, weird. A strange, good sort of weird... different was the word. It'd been a while since she was around someone who made her feel that happy -- and she was still baffled by the fact that that person right now was Austin. "Do you think this could work?" she asked, merely out of curiosity rather than actually thinking so far into the future.

Austin smiled softly, he shook his head, "Maybe you don't have to be? I bet I can get you out of here as fast as I got you in." he said moving a hand under her chin. "Wouldn't you like that?" he asked her. He just wanted Valerie to check her life and her choices. She was more than this strip club. "You're more than just this. You can still be a backup dancer." he nodded. "Why don't you try it?" The fact that she was a stripper didn't bother him. People made money the best way they could, right?
Her next question made him grin softly, "It can if we try hard not to do anything that will upset one another but that's how we're gonna make it work, by getting to know each other." he leaned into kiss her once again, he was usually more assertive with his kisses and petting. Which was no surprise that his hands moved up the nape of her neck and through her her hair.

Valerie smiled slightly, maybe she didn't have to be? "Believe me, I've tried..." she glanced to the side and readjusted the Santa hat on her head, "with all the talent in New York -- it's hard to book jobs. Besides," she shrugged, "this job pays for my, well, everything." It sounded a little sad, the way she put it that way, but Val wasn't one to sugarcoat things, and it wasn't like she was making a big deal out of it to make him feel sorry for her. Besides, Austin didn't seem to mind, and that gave her a sense of relief.
Leaning up against him, she looked down, sheepishly, "How do I not remember kissing you?" she scrunched her eyebrows; she was sure she would've remembered that... after all, in high school, she never really did much of anything with the opposite sex until that drunken night. Only small fragments, such as seeing Austin's face close to hers, or simply seeing him from across the room. She thought so ill of him then, that this whole idea of starting over seemed a bit insane -- but she liked it. "Can't guarantee that won't happen, but," she nodded, "I'm definitely up for it."

Austin tilted his head while just hugging her close to him. He looked down to her hat and rested his head on the fluffy white part before smiling softly. "That's not true." He paused, "You have talent too. Don't let competition keep you from going at it." Sure has never stopped Austin and he was always a rich boy but he never used his money to get what he wanted.
"Because you had more alcohol in your system than the regular? It's okay, it wasn't that great—I'm talking about me." Austin wasn't, he didn't think that he was all that good in bed. "Your next time will be better." He then rolled his eyes, what was he saying? "I mean..." Austin kissed the top of her head before looking down to her face, "When I walked in here, I thought about you. You just came into my mind." He thought it was interesting.

Adjusting her arms around him, Valerie cocked her head to the side, "I haven't danced... well, really danced since I started stripping." she shook her head, "I suppose I can always start trying again, but," she bit the corner of her lip, "maybe not until I quit this stupid job." The only reason she had even resorted to working there was because she couldn't make enough working as a waitress to move out of her mom's. She originally planned on quitting a short time after getting her apartment, but the more money she brought in, the longer she worked there.
Pursing her lips, she started to wonder why she had drinken so much that night. Val was always so careful with that type of a thing, drinking in moderation, never enough to get wasted, because she knew something like what had happened could have happened if she did. What changed? She shook the thought off, deciding it wasn't important, and leaning in to kiss Austin again, "I don't think I'd know the difference between good and bad," she giggled softly, "but I'm sure it will."
Smiling when he mentioned thinking about her, she raised an eyebrow, "You did?" she asked, "What were you thinking about me?"

Austin smiled softly, looking down at her as she spoke. He opened his mouth and was about to say something but he let her continue because he didn't want to interrupt her. What good was it to get to know somebody if you didn't let them talk? He laughed softly and kissed her back before tilting his head to the side, "And when do you plan on quitting?" he rose an eyebrow.
He then shifted his eyes down to her, "Promise you won't get mad?" he asked her before sighing. Austin took her hand and led her to the couch so they could have a conversation. "My confidence in you was superior because I thought you would be ashamed of this place because I remembered what you told me that time I came up to you at the club..." Austin lowered his eyes down to his lap.

"Once I make enough to move out of this creepy neighborhood?" her answer came out more like a question, as Val wasn't even really sure if that would happen. She couldn't live off of all those tips forever, she knew that, she'd have to get a real job eventually, just... she wasn't particularly sure of where to start. Most of the girls she saw that worked there have been since the club had started hiring girls years ago, and Val certainly didn't want to spend that much time taking her clothes off for money.
As she sat down, she crossed her legs, taking the Santa hat off her head and placing it on top of her lap, suddenly feeling a bit exposed despite the fact that just hours earlier she had taken her top off in front of a room full of men. When she heard what Austin said, she laughed at the irony, "Well, I have to admit I was wrong about you that night," she shook her head and leaned back on the couch, "you're in here with me, not fucking some chick in a bathroom stall." She scrunched her eyebrows, "Even if the only reason you're in here in the first place was to get a lap dance from me..."

Austin nodded, but he did still believe in her. Not matter if she was working here but he was going to help her with the money, of course. He had to spare!
A sigh escaped his lips while moving his jaw to the side. "Yeah..." Austin rose an eyebrow, "About that..." he laughed before leaning his head close to hers like a cute boyfriend would to his girlfriend even if he had no clue how to do this. He'd seen a couple of the people who he got on along with do it and he felt it was - nice. Nice to feel someone endearing toward you and being close. "Well, it didn't happen for a reason, right?" he shrugged softly. "So, technically, it's all fate and I'm not getting a lap dance because the girl who was supposed to give it to me, was not born to do that." Austin shook his head and smiled sweetly.

With a giggle, Valerie nodded, "It's weird how fate just works like that," she thought back to earlier, comparing it to their past situations, "you were there at the club that one night, then at that party... and now, you're here." She ran a hand through her hair, "not that I think that this is--" she felt it was a little strange of herself to be suggesting fate had anything to do with those situations, shaking her head and changing the subject, "You know, I actually sort of liked it when we argued in high school?" she shrugged, "Whenever we did I got this weird rush," she bit her lip, "like, how it felt when you kissed me."
Her eyes shifted down, bashfully, as she admitted that. Thinking back, that was almost most of what she remembered whenever she looked back on her experiences. Austin seemed to always be around, except for after he graduated, of course.

Austin grinned softly, he then looked to her, "Well, I don't know if it's faith but I feel this gravitational pull. I must be getting scientific with my words. Still, you should know that." he laughed before smacking his lips together. "I liked it too! I mean, why else would I approach you with some snarky comment to get you started." he knew that whenever either began it never really ended.
"It was a relief to see you almost everyday. At times I felt like I went too far to make you feel bad but then I remembered that you," he placed a hand under her chin, "Were a tough cookie who didn't let any of my words get to her. No matter how nice or how mean." He liked that she never let her guard down.

Fiddling with the soft, fluffy white ball at the end of her Santa hat in her lap, Valerie shrugged, "What can I say? I'm indestructible," she wrinkled her nose as she grinned.
"Man, if," she looked down, "if someone told me years ago I'd be sitting here in a private room at a strip club," she shifted her gaze up to meet Austin's again, "with you, I think I would've slapped them in the face." Val nodded, matter-a-factly, "Did you ever think of being with me?" she squinted her eyes at the thought, "You know, before that night?" She raised an eyebrow, curiously.

"That you are, Santa baby." Austin laughed before looking down to his lap. He then pursed his lips together into a smile. He had never thought of a relationship but more like being married to her. Which was those thoughts that he didn't want to think but at the same time he did.
"I honestly would have laughed. But, how funny and interesting is life?" Austin then looked to her before taking her hand and playing with it. He remembered when she was sleeping that night and he found out about her ring. He winced slightly before looking up at her, "Did you?" He rose an eyebrow, "I mean, I thought about us being a cranky married couple because that's what my friends said we were." He rolled his eyes with a soft grin.

Valerie leaned in to kiss Austin, then tilted her head to the side as she pulled away, smiling slightly, "A little bit." she admitted, with a small laugh, "I had the most confusing dream about you this one night," she shook her head, "we were bickering the way we always did, to the point where I think I was yelling," she looked down, watching him play with her hand, "then you kissed me."
She shrugged, averting her eyes back up, "When I woke up, I couldn't tell if I liked it or not, and I think I was especially, uh," she searched for the right word, "irritated with you when we spoke that day because of it."
