Val seriously hated her job upon first getting it. Back then, she thought so lowly of strippers, sought no respect for any of them, and she certainly wouldn't use her skills in dance for a job like that. But after being rejected from Julliard, losing her virginity to some guy she hated after a drunken night, and her own mother kicking her out of the house... it was a last resort. The only way she could make money, make a living, eat. She never thought she'd find herself in this position, yet, there she was, popping out of a people-sized Christmas present box onstage at a strip club, dressed in lingerie that she'd be taking off in a matter of minutes in front of an audience full of men. Nevertheless, she knew how to perform, keeping a smile on her face, her eyes shining brightly as she did her little dance for the crowd, stripping down until she was in nothing but her Santa hat, red thong, and heels. She felt disgusting. After collecting her clothing and pile of one and five dollar bills that she had shaken out of her underwear, Val stuffed it all into her purse backstage, keeping it in her locker after getting dressed back into her costume, as she still had to work a few more hours that night. Running a hand through her hair before placing the Santa hat back on her head, she headed back out, to the bar for her break, ordering a beer.

Don't get your panties in a twist. Austin wasn't entirely desperate but he enjoyed seeing different of a bit of a little something now and then. For Pete's sake, he was a forensic scientist and he was very good at what he did, thank you very much. And, it was almost Christmas, wasn't he allowed to get presents?
When he walked inside of the strip club, he looked around with his hands inside the pockets of his black slacks. Austin surveyed the spot. Some girls were dancing and the dudes were going crazy for them. Wasn't that a nice way to earn a living? Hm, then came in mind that girl, Valkyrie was it? Oh no, it was Val-er-ie. Right. She'd probably puke a whole day of meals if she ever saw them. He wondered how she was doing. Austin didn't exactly think losing her virginity to him was a fault. What kind of fault was that? She should be quite proud of that. Huh! Austin didn't feel too fancy checking a woman out while a bunch of men did the same. Actually, he was going to go for something more private. Yes, private. He saw a girl by the bar, wearing a Santa Claus outfit well, not particularly what you would call an actual Santa costume. More like a slutty Santa female enjoying a drink at the bar. How twisted was that?
"Hey there cutie." Austin said after gently tapping her shoulder with his finger and coming up from behind her and in front of her. "Are you up for a private dance? I pay really good, and we can play by your rules." he asked with a soft grin. Still have that smooth talking gift don't cha, Mr. Kennedy?

Ew.
Val didn't want to bother looking up at whatever creep had started talking to her, but her boss had strictly instructed her not to deny any paying customers, as when she'd first started working there, she'd been a little fussy and nearly got fired for losing business.
Adjusting her voice and sitting up straighter, she shrugged, setting her beer down for a second, "My rules, huh?" she smirked, turning her head up to look at the man, "I like the sound of that." It was pretty dark in there, but from what she could tell, he was young, and Val was in no way going to deny that. She was sick and tired of giving lap dances to old creeps every night, and men close to her age never usually came in unless they were having a bachelor party or something.
She finished off about half of her beer, standing up, ready to go. Taking the beer he'd ordered from the bartender and handing it to the guy, politely. Her boss was watching her intently from one of the tables, so she had to be on good behavior, which irritated her in the slightest bit, though she couldn't do anything about it. "Let's go," she smiled, taking him by the hand and leading him to one of the private rooms. If Austin Kennedy had seen her now, oh, Val would be dead. What had she told him back at the club? That she was going to be some big shot dancer, with Usher and Beyonce? And she actually thought she'd still have Broadway on her path, yeah right. Val's dreams were nothing but a joke now. She'd lost her morals, lost her dream, she had nothing to live up to, and she most certainly didn't want people like Mr. Kennedy finding out about her lifestyle now.

Austin could not see very much of who he was talking to. The only thing he could make was her voice and it sounded vaguely familiar. Vaguely. He pursed his lips together into a soft smirk as he followed her to the private room. He was the sort of guy to make conversation with just about anyone no matter the situation. He was also quite the joker.
"So, Santa Claus outfit? It doesn't really go with the whole atmosphere." he said with a soft chuckle but with an outgoing tone nonetheless. He looked her up and down, scanning her before looking down once again but at her heels. Austin had a hard time seeing where he was stepping and he didn't want to trip her or him that would just be embarrassing.

( I'm too lazy to crop this so let's just pretend that there's one big long couch there and the lights are just dimmed a little darker ~ xD ) Locking the door behind her, Val walked up to Austin, sliding the Santa hat off of her head, shaking her hair to fix it before placing it on top of his, smiling, satisfied, "Don't worry," she said, placing her hands on his shoulders and sitting him down on the couch, "it'll be off soon." She ran her fingers through her hair before climbing on top of his lap. Already, she felt the shame creeping up inside of her as she did this, moving her body against his, beginning to undo the string that held together her Santa top, before taking a closer look at the guy's face... " Kennedy?" stopping in the middle of her dance, she squinted at the guy -- no, no, this couldn't be... she was frozen, on top of him, her top half-undone.

Austin shrugged when this mystery girl told him not to worry. He let her push him down on the couch easily. When she straddled him, he placed his hands on her hips before looking up at her. His eyes were generally on her face because unlike the usual strippers he'd seen, this one was easy on the eyes. He tilted his head up slightly while his hands went down her thighs.
Austin's eyes widened when she recognized him. "My name is Austin but... Yes." He nodded, knitting his eyebrows and trying to figure out where he's met her. His hand went under her chin as he had a long, good look. "Fetus!?" He exclaimed, rather surprised and flabbergasted. "Are you lost?" He asked her, he recognized her by her lips and then everything gathered up.

Oh god... oh god, oh god, oh god.
The second he called her "fetus", she immediately hopped off of him, quickly trying to re-do her top even though it was very complicated with the fact that it had a bunch of strings that you had to place everywhere and her hands were shaking frantically as she tried to do it -- giving up after being unable to finish it, she grabbed the Santa hat from off the top of Austin's head and covered her cleavage, though it didn't exactly help the fact that she was wearing underwear and a garter belt from the waist down. She couldn't look him in the eyes. Oh god. She had just given him a lap dance... or at least, started to -- the mere thought of herself even touching him after what happened, what he did to her (even though her drunken self was also in fault at the time for what had happened) sickened her. Well, maybe not sickened, but she was definitely infuriated.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" she asked, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable with her body, even though he'd already seen most of it.

Austin watched her panic, he pursed his lips together while she continued hopelessly making an attempt to tie her top back together. He then opened his mouth to say, "I was here for a lap dance but the real question is, what are you doing here?" He asked her, raising an eyebrow while tilting his head to the side.
Wow. Where was Beyonce? Austin sure as hell knew that she didn't own a strip club. Maybe Usher was behind this? But no, not really. He sighed then stood up, "Here, let me help you." He said before helping her finish tying up her top. He wasn't going to give her a hard time at work.

Val bit her lip and looked to the side as Austin helped her with her top, suddenly feeling ashamed. More ashamed than she had been before just being a stripper, this was Austin. She wasn't exactly too sure of why his opinion of her was so important in her mind, but it was, and it frustrated her to let him see her this way. She gave out a sigh, feeling herself tear up but she didn't want to cry in front of him, placing the hat back on her head and wiping them away as she moved her hands down in front of them, sneakily.
Shaking her head, she placed her hands on her hips, then looked back up at him, "Well, aren't you going to say something," she raised an eyebrow, "about me, working here," she breathed in, "being a stripper?"
Blinking, Val couldn't keep eye contact, then glanced down at the floor, cocking her head to the side, "I mean, as you can clearly see, there's no Usher or Beyonce anywhere around here. And the only thing I was on 'top' of tonight, was you." She just wanted him to hit her with all of it already, coming up with everything she could think of that he would say in her head, hoping it wouldn't sting as much as she was imagining it to.

Did Valerie believe Austin would make fun of her because she couldn't achieve her dream of becoming a back up dancer and had ended up doing something like this for a living? How cruel did she think he was? Austin must have been a little on the mean side. Maybe a few years back he might have rubbed all of her words on her face and might have laughed too but not today. He had changed, he just had a hard time believing it.
Why did she think so bad of him? And why did he care? "Why would I? Huh, give me a good reason why I would find it beneficial of laughing at you or reminding you of what you lost? Tell me Valerie, why would I do that?" He asked her, crossing his arms after tying her top and taking a step back to look her in the eye.

"Why not?" Valerie lashed back, "That's all you'd ever do if you saw me this way, years ago," she shook her head, "you would've laughed your head off." she insisted, tears pinching the back of her eyes, her heart pounding in her chest.
She bit her tongue, turning her head for a moment, before looking at him again, "You took away the one thing that mattered most to me that I can never, ever get back," she breathed out, "you have no idea how much that meant to me, how screwed up I got after it happened," she shook her head. After all these years, she had let it get to her and build up so much into resentment towards everything, towards Austin, towards her rejection to Julliard, "I was supposed give that up to someone I loved, not Austin Kennedy, the guy who relentlessly picked on me throughout high school, on a night that I barely remember!" she was raising her voice now, though not enough to yell because if she were to be any louder, she'd have started crying.
"I failed, okay?" she pursed her lips, "At everything, everything I've worked for, it's all done with."

Austin frowned, he knitted his eyebrows and said, "You said it yourself back then." He kept his arms crossed while looking to her. He then shifted his eyes away because he knew that it was most of his fault because Austin hadn't been drunk enough to not know who he was going to sleep with. He didn't think it through, however, he was tipsy not drunk as she had been. He knew very well it was Valerie but there was something that could have made him careless. It must have been the curiosity and subconscious of how it would be like to spend a night with someone who you mutually disliked.
"You shouldn't blame yourself for something that I did." Austin still knew how to tell the truth. He was honest. "But at least I stayed the night and until morning. I didn't just leave you there. You're the one who left!" He was raising his voice as well, Austin would only tell her how it all happened if she actually asked him.

Val covered her face with her hands for a second, taking in a breath as Austin spoke to her. He stayed? She couldn't believe that. Part of her didn't want to. This was the same Austin that continuously called her 'fetus' that drove her crazy with every word that came out of his mouth, the same Austin that had practically stolen her virginity the night she'd gotten bitch-drunk at a party.
"Why?" was all she could ask, as she uncovered her face and looked up at him, scrunching her eyebrows in confusion, "Why would you stay? Why didn't you leave?" She absolutely refused to accept the possibility that he cared about her, in the slightest bit. Though they didn't always get along, they always had at least some level of mutual respect for each other. Most people stayed away from others they disliked, whereas they always seemed to draw towards one another.

Austin would try to justify himself and say that the reason why he called her 'fetus' was because she looked really young. However, there was no time for that. He was just going to speak like an adult should. He looked to her before taking a seat on the couch. How was he going to sound genuine and not as if he were lying to her.
"I didn't leave." Austin began, he just couldn't find a way to tell her. Why didn't he leave, actually? He was so used to hitting then quitting and running away. However, he stayed with her until she woke up and got rather angry to say the least. He then sighed before looking to her, "I didn't leave because I couldn't imagine how scary it would have been for you to wake up alone in a bed, naked and in mild pain. Hell, I'd be scared." He shrugged before looking to her. "And despite that I mocked you and picked on you, you didn't deserve being abandoned. At least then you would know who you were with and not go more insane." He nodded, perfectly understood, he hoped.

Crossing her arms now, Val looked up to the ceiling, listening to Austin explain himself, and hating herself for not remember most of it, shaking her head and chewing on the inside of her lip. Her voice was softer now, as she was trying to calm down, "Why did you do it?" she looked him in the eye now, finally, "You knew I was drunk, you knew that I," she glanced to the side, "was a virgin. Why?" she lowered her eyes at him, "Did you do it to spite me, make a joke out of it, what?"
She breathed in, "Do you know how heart-breaking it was, for me to wake up that next morning, naked, with you in the bed and my abstinence ring still on my left ring finger?" she covered her mouth for a moment, "Seeing it there was just a big slap in my face."
