Name: Drake Wade Adams
Date of birth/age: Drake is 23 years old, and his birthday is April 17th.
Appearance: Drake has really changed since high school. Smoking has aged him, and he's let his hair grow out and be bleached by the sun. He's more muscular now, his chin more prominent and his lungs a bit more damaged by the five cigarettes he smokes a day.
His attire includes what it always had: white shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of good, worn boots. Now a days, he wears a hat or bandanna, and occasionally a pair of glasses - but that's just for reading fine-print. His racing outfit actually isn't that amazing. It's black, to match his car, and the sponsors are only on the back of the jacket, with a green racing stripe going across his helmet and the sides of his jacket and pants, right at the seam. When he's not professionally racing, he'll be go-cart, drag or any other kind of small racing, down by the home-town track, just for fun.
Personality: Drake hasn't changed much since high school in the personality sense. He's like a big friendly dragon once you get to know him... but if you haven't taken a chance to see who he is, he's a fire spewing monster. His sarcasm levels have increased in great amounts and his attitude is a bit more egotistical, but he's still the same Drake. He's a family man at heart, even though he still goes after girls he's not married to. He likes laughing with his daughter, telling jokes and just being silly with her. He's a great guy, promise!
Career: Drake is in NASCAR driving. He races with his faithful car #714, and they've won a few championships - he's hoping to make it to the Indy 500 some day.
Background:
Then: Drake has been trouble since he was fifteen, ever since what he will always remember by the name, “the Great Adams family Tragedy.” He was born with a twin sister in 1993 to a normal family, in Akron, Ohio. His mother was twenty-one and his father was almost thirty years old, which wasn’t such a big deal back then, though it was admittedly a little young to have a baby - let alone twins. However, by the time Drake was three years old, his father had started drinking heavily. By that time, his mother had resorted to pharmaceutical drugs. During her withdraws, she tended to stop paying attention – which lead to his father’s greater frustration. He turned aggressive and violent, and after that, the family was never the same. Drake still remembers the night his mother tried to leave, and his father dragged her inside forcibly – where they ended up “making things right” and agreeing to try to work things out. When she got pregnant a year later, he had promised to sober up, and for a while they really thought things were better. That was until his little sister started to grow up and his father’s disgusting habits returned.
When his sister Gia was eight, their father started again with his aggressiveness. His favorite target was Gia, always hitting her whenever she said the slightest thing wrong. If their mother or Drake tried to stop him, they’d just get a hard hit and be told to stay out of it. His twin sister Indiana was his favorite in other manors; one night, Drake had been up nursing Gia's wounds from a bad hit, when he heard Indiana crying. He walked in on his father's raping her for the first time, and there were others after that. He was only thirteen at the time; he didn’t know how to tell someone, let alone how to stop his father.
Gia killed herself on her eleventh birthday, when Drake was still fifteen. After that, Drake promised to never hit a girl – but that didn’t stop him from getting into trouble at school for hitting the boys, or swearing at teachers, or doing stupid stunts with his motor cycle in the parking lot. He grew apart from Indiana, never being able to stop his father's abuse - it became a habit of his; whenever Mr. Adams was upset or had a bad day, he took out sexual frustration on Indiana. Thankfully, it was only a few times a month, but Drake could never stand to hear her cry so hard.
At sixteen, his father was arrested for aggravated assault against his mother; he had hit her in the principal’s office when she stood up for Drake. Upon farther investigation, they did a rape test on Indiana and found all the evidence, including a testimonial from both of them that Mr. Adams had driven Gia to her death. From there, his mother got addicted again, turning to drugs to block out the pain of memories and just sent him and his sister away to Foxhurst, the tuition paid for by his aunt living near campus.
Now: Drake met Serena at Foxhurst at the end of their Junior year. They hooked up once in the back of a car in a Wendy's parking lot, and he thought that was it. However, when he met with her a few weeks before school started Senior year, things changed. They had sex in the stall of the men's bathroom at the ice cream shop and everything flipped upside down. She said she loved him... she wanted him to love her back, and at the time, he wasn't capable of it. He was too hurt by the people who were supposed to love him, he didn't know how to love her.
Later on, they were a struggling couple. Out of the blue, the night Drake said he loved her, Gia Adelaide Carver Waldorf-Adams was born. She was five pounds, five ounces, and the light of Drake's life. He fell in love with her immediately and even though it was hard being a father at nineteen, he wanted to take on the challenge. He promised Serena to always be there for her and their daughter and from then on, he always was. Even though he had multiple (eventually open) affairs, he was always there in the morning, home by dinner, and available to baby sit.
When he and Serena graduated, Drake moved out to live on campus, his college one hundred miles away in South Rock, Florida. He completed a year and a half at South Rock University before dropping out - though he had gotten a bachelor's degree, it wasn't quite a lot. He knew enough in mechanics to open his own garage back home, close to the apartment he and Serena had. When they moved into an actual house, he took the fifteen minute commute so he could keep his garage. When he got to be a NASCAR driver (which was a result of many years of unprofessional racing) he gave the physical works of the garage to a friend and kept up the business end. He's happy, home, and living a good life.
Optional Information: Drake's daughter Carver is deaf and he knows sign language from when he was a kid. Carver is also mute and they never pressure her to vocalize (verbally).
