Martin smiled to the side, he was pro at this. Well, he had a couple of good for nothing cheating girlfriends. Ugh, the boy was heartbroken but he knew how to deal. "Just call and say, 'Hey Osteen, whazzah, how you dooen' anyteen noo?' he was talking like a girl would or at least if he was a girl he would talk like that.
"He'll update you on what he wants to and if he doesn't well, you know the deal." This was why Martin loved being on top of things, it made his life easier and eliminated the bad things out of it - or bad people. "I'll be listening with my ear pressed on the other side of the phone." he nodded confidently.

Valerie tried to smile at Martin, reaching her hand over and taking his before dialing Austin's number. She let her thumb hover over the 'call' button, trying to think of whether or not she wanted to do this before finally pressing it and holding the phone to her ear, chewing on the inside of her lip, anxiously as she let it ring. What if he denied it? Lied to her? What if she blurted something stupid? Squeezing Martin's hand as she looked to him, her heart skipping a beat each second she heard the phone go silent until she just heard more ringing.

Martin pressed his ear to the phone while holding onto Val's hand. He rose an eyebrow.
~
"Val, hey babe." Austin greeted as he picked up the phone, "What's up?" he asked her. Behind the line, he had a smile on his face but he was sure that she was calling because of something. Had she known about him having a child. Well, he would find out, right?
~
Martin made a face, that was so weird, Austin calling Valerie 'babe'. Was he just mixing up his words? He covered his mouth with his free hand.

Val held in a laugh when she saw Martin make a face, nudging him softly, then bit her lip, "Just, uh, watching a movie," she shrugged, even though she knew he couldn't see her. Looking down, she adjusted the phone slightly on her ear so Martin could hear better too, "How 'bout you? Anything interesting happen recently?" she cringed slightly, was that too obvious? No, no, it's not like she said 'if you don't tell me you have a baby I'm going to make sure you're not going to be able to have anymore.' or something along the lines of that.

"That's good. I'm sitting here at home, looking through a few papers for work. Someone got murdered last night at Rockerfeller so I'm looking over some evidence." Austin said, looking down at testaments. "Anything interesting?" he rose an eyebrow and he really wasn't one to lie or sugar coat so he just told her. "I found out I have a kid. Her mother's hysterical, she yelled at me in the middle of the mall when my daughter came up to me with a picture claiming I was her father." he explained.
~
Martin widened his eyes and looked to Val before squeezing her hand and nodding. He held up a thumb and listened into the conversation.
~
"Lauren, my ex-girlfriend from high school decided to tell me just now. See, I don't get why she would do that? But you know, whatever. If anything it's her fault because she wasn't clear in the first place and she's acting like it's mine. What the fuck seriously? It makes me so mad. But, before I got into legal terms I need to set my evidence straight." Austin couldn't see his daughter which sucked, and it wasn't even his fault.
~
Martin rose an eyebrow, "Wow." he mouthed while looking to Val. "That ain't cool. We should make him cookies." he mouthed.

"Wow," Valerie raised her eyebrows; part of her was relieved that Austin hadn't lied to her, while the other part was still a little dazed knowing that he really did have a kid. The good thing was that he didn't know about it, right? She shook her head, twirling a strand of hair in her finger as she tried smiling at Martin, "I'm sorry, that must be rough," she scrunched her eyebrows, unsure of what to say to him. What are you supposed to do when the guy you're dating finds out they have a daughter with someone else?
"Is there anything I can do? Make you feel better?"
