When Jaxon pulled up to her apartment, Naveah was so nervous she was going out of her mind. She had no clue where they were going, and she didn't know what to wear, either. She was only half dressed by the time he came to the door. In the end, she threw on a casual black dress, a pair of black heels, and was wearing her favorite charm bracelet on her right wrist - for good luck. When she noticed it was raining, she pulled on a rain coat and answered the door, ready to leave. They got into the car, and she fiddled with her hair nervously. She had left it down and straightened it, hoping he would like the newer look. She smiled at him, happy to see him but so anxious about going on a date. What was she supposed to do? Or even say? She had kissed him before, yes, but dating and kissing... those are different things. Neither of them knew where to go for dinner, so she pulled out her phone and searched for new restaurants in the Manhattan area. That's how she found Middle-East, a restaurant featuring - you guessed it - Middle Eastern dining. It was a perfect couples place, too, with an elegant decor and even a dance floor - or so it said on the website. She put the directions into her GPS and let her phone navigate for him, then sat back in her seat, hands clenched in her lap. "So, uh, Jaxon, I think that's the place, right there." She pointed towards it; it was to their right. Turning off her phone, she looked in awe at the place. It was so pretty to look at - and she could already hear the live band playing. She waited for him to park the car, then glanced at the place again. This was where she was really having her first date... she could have squealed with excitement. Jaxon parked and got out of the car only to drop his keys into a puddle. Cussing under his breath, he reached down fort them before sprinting up to the restaurant and practically pulling Naveah inside by the arm. "I'm sorry I was just getting soaked so.. Yea," he said through nervois laughter as he shook his arms, little beads of water flying off of his white, button down shirt. Oh great.. You can see through my shirt now.. he said to himself as he looked down at his now transparent shirt.
"I hope we dont ha e to wait so long for a table," he said as he grabbed her hand, lacing their fingers like always. Turning away for a second he looked to the hostess. "Two please," he said. When she asked for a name he replied Porter and looked back at Naveah. "This is gonna be fun," he said, clearly nervous as his voice cracked and he blushed.
Not even a minute later, the hostess was ushering them to a booth right near the dancefloor. Luckily, they werent right next to the band. Now he could talk to her.

Naveah laughed as he yanked her inside. Apparently, he didn't like being out in the rain as much as she did. However, she thought it was kind of fun, running to escape the wet weather. It reminded her of the ending scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's, when Hollie Golightly kisses Fred Varjak in the rain. Maybe I'll get to kiss Jaxon in the rain tonight... No, stop thinking like that. This is your first date, kissing is a no-no! Naveah smiled at the thought of potentially kissing Jax, but she made herself dismiss that sort of thing from her mind; she didn't want to be too forward.
"I wouldn't mind waiting." Naveah murmured, barely audible. However, that didn't matter, as soon the waitress came to take them to their table. "You're right, this should be fun." Was that a hint of doubt in her voice? No, it was merely anxiety - she hadn't done this in... well, never. She hadn't really dated anyone, unless you count going clubbing as a date - and those sorts of things never lead anywhere.
"So..." Naveah sat down across from Jaxon, shrugging out of her raincoat and lying it on the bench next to her. She wanted to sit facing Jax so that they could talk and see each other. The waitress had promised to come back with appetizers, to give them a chance to think of what they wanted to eat and drink. Looking over the menu, Naveah shrugged - there wasn't much that was special, but she just hoped it tasted good. "You know what would be cute? If you ordered for me." Naveah blurted out, instantly blushing. "I - uh, sorry that just... popped out of my mouth."

Jaxon smiled up at Naveah from the menu. "Well I mean if i knew what any of this was Id order for you," he said with a laugh. Scanning over the menu, he stopped when he saw a picture of what looked like a gyro. Jaxon always loved gyros.. And after reading the description of what a shawrama was, well, he didnt see a difference between it and a gyro. "How about this?" he asked as he flipped the menu towards her and pointed at the picture of the pita covered in meat.
Jaxon was beyond excited. His legs were bouncing rapidly, his brown Nikes tapping against the ground. Just looking at Naveah was like floating.. He felt like life was made of cotton balls and clouds wheneer he was near her.

"Hmm... that sounds good. I'm definitely going to want a side of rice with that, though..." She scanned the menu in her hand for the picture he was pointing to. When she found it, she grinned and let out a semi-loud "Aha!" and was glad that the band covered up her obnoxious noise. "It comes with pork fried rice. Awesome. And so do we have our orders now?" She looked up at him with a soft smile and put her hands flat on the table. She had seen that sort of move in a movie - put your hand out so it's available, but don't be obvious with the fact that you want to hold hands. Make it subtle. "I don't know what I want to drink, either. Damn - can you order that for me too?" She joked, then turned the menu to the back to look at the drinks. They had nice pictures of cool, refreshing-looking liquids poured over ice in crystal glasses. She doubted they'd look as nice when she got the drink, but they were cool looking pictures at least. "You know what? Maybe I should order the drinks." She glanced down at the menu, reading the little descriptions they provided. Everything sounded pretty good in her mind, but she wanted to try something daring. She wasn't going to order him a Coca Cola - it had to be unique and they were trying new things right? Like shawrama and... dating. Blushing at the thought, she buried her face in her menu. "How about Arak? It's an alcoholic beverage," she looked up and winked when she said that - he knew she was underage. Reading off of the menu, she recited, "'Arak is typically made from grapes, though dates, sugar, plums, figs, and molasses are used in our recipe. This is a surprising drink you will be sure to love'... Sounds good, right?" Grinning, she read the description again in her head, realizing she left something out. "Ooh! It even changes color. It's clear but when you add water or ice, it turns a sort of white color. Let's try it - come on, be daring, Jax." She pleaded.

Jaxon smiled and nodded as she mentioned the rice, making a mental note so he wouldnt forget when it was time to order. He looked down ag her hands a bit, bitong his lip gently as he thought about whether or not he should take it. Was it too soon? Did she not even want him to take her hand?
Fuck it.
Reaching across the table a bit, Jaxon laid his hand over the top of naveah's without really looking at her so as to make it subtle; as if hed never even touched her hand. But as cool as he made himself on the outside, inside Jax was jumping off the walls. He hadnt felt this way since hed kissed her all those years ago.. He only looked up when she mentioned the drinks.
"Whoa sounds cool," he said finding the drink description on his own menu. "Its like.." he paused and made a silly face, "BLACK MAGIC!" He smiled and laughed in hopes that shed get his reference to whenthey were in high school.

Naveah blushed when he touched her hand, glad that her tactic had worked. She looked at him, then pressed her lips together in the way she always did when she was nervous. Glancing down at their hands, she smiled at the way they looked, held together. Her hands weren't small, but her thin spindly fingers looked delicate next to his. It was sweet, that he held her hand and ordered for her, and even let her decide what drinks to have.
"Back to black magic, are we? It seems like that's a reoccurring theme between us." Biting her lower lip, she gathered the courage to look up. She wanted to see his eyes again; they were the kind of eyes a girl could dream about. Such a stunning light blue... She connected their gaze, trying to keep from looking away in embarrassment. His eyes were so full of knowledge and wisdom, and she couldn't tear herself away from them. When she looked at him, it was as if those childish butterflies turned into fluttering birds, making her feel light and airy. Are we having a moment? I think we're having a moment... Oh my god, I'm having a moment with Jaxon Porter.
She had to look away when the waitress came over. She looked up at her, unable to break the smile that Jaxon had put upon her lips. She loved what he was doing to her - making her feel happier than ever, just to go on a date. The waitress introduced herself as Naveah tried to compose her crazy feelings. "Uh, can we get a bottle of Arak and two glasses?" She asked the girl, for the first time worried about the alcohol content of the drink.
"Yes, ma'am, would you like the 30% or the 60%?" The waitress, Tiffany, a total blonde, just twirled her hair absently, unaware that she was intruding on a true Jaxon and Naveah moment. Naveah shook her head, unsure of what the heck those percentages meant - but she liked the number sixty, so that's what she ordered. She then looked over at Jaxon, already forgetting what he had planned to order her.
OOC// For the record, 60% means the Arak she ordered has a 60% alcohol content. So... XD They need to water it down a little.

Jaxon's eyes widened when Naveah ordered the sixty. "Daring, eh?" he asked her, tightening his fingers over the top of her hand a bit. He smiled at her gently before looking up at the waitress. She was a tall, thin, rather busty blonde.. totally not Jaxon's type. He grimaced lightly before looking back down at his menu and pointing to the picture of the shawrama again. "We'll also have two orders of this," he said, looking up at the waitress and swallowing before adding, "along with a side order of rice." He forced a rather fake, toothy smile at her before looking back to Naveah and making a silly face.
About ten seconds later, after the girl had finished scribbling down their orders, she asked if that would be all and Jaxon nodded while handing her their menus. She walked away, horribly fumbling around in the unnaturally tall heels she was wearing, and Jaxon looked back at Naveah again. "Will that be alllll," he mimicked the girl's voice, though it was a bit higher and more stereotypical. "I'm really surprised she didn't ask for an ID," he said, back in his normal voice as he replaced his hand atop Naveah's.
Sitting back in his seat, Jaxon looked out across the restaurant before. He'd never been here.. and it was pretty damn nice! Very new, very modern, yet there was the very subtle touch of middle eastern decor. He smiled and nodded as he surveyed the place more, taking in two things: One, there were quite a lot of people here for such a new place. He wondered just how long it had been open, because it looked like most of these people were regulars. And two, though it was a live band, they seemed to be playing rather 'club-ish' music. He was quite interested in this, watching the guitarist closely. Somehow, they managed to get quite a beat going. Middle eastern techno.. with guitar.. and drums? It was sure interesting alright.
"How 'bout this music?" he asked, leaning in so he wouldn't have to shout.

Naveah sort of glared at the tall blonde. Every man was looking for a girl like her - breasts practically committing mutiny to escape from out of her shirt, bottle blonde hair with curled extensions, and a staggering walk that made certain said breasts wiggle. Naveah rolled her eyes as she left, then smiled, glad that Jaxon didn't seem too interested in her.
Mimicking her as well, Naveah squeaked, "Don't mind meee, I'm just going to trip around the restaurant and hope for tipsss because I think I'm sexy." Ok, so maybe it was a little bitter, but it made her laugh. She giggled, enjoying the way his fingers tightened around her hand. It was like he didn't want to let go - or maybe he was just nervous. She didn't want to interpret anything the wrong way. "I'm glad she didn't ask for an I.D., that makes things easier, right?"
Leaning in as he leaned in, she noticed two things. One, the music was sort of loud, and she was enjoying it - but she wasn't too happy with the volume of it. And the second factor... when she had gotten closer, to hear him better, she found herself face to face with him. At first, it was nothing, but then... they were so close. They could kiss, if they wanted to - she wanted to, in fact, but she restrained herself by blushing and pulling away, not making eye contact. "Yeah... this music. Uh... you want to dance?"
She stood up, letting go of his hand to wander to the dance floor. It was a fast song, something she rather liked. A sort of club tune, one she had heard before - but the live band wasn't doing it justice, and they added odd, Middle-Eastern things to it. For instance, weird instruments and awkward voices transitioning to different languages. And yet, she still liked it. Singing along to the lyrics under her breath, she grinned - the song was so deliciously dirty, it always made her smile. "Nice legs, daisy dukes, makes a man go - woo hoo! That's the way they come through, like woo hoo, woo hoo! Low cut, see through, shirts that make you woo hoo, that's the way they all come through, like woo hoo, woo hoo!" ((Starstrukk by 3 Oh! 3))
She had just started dancing, moving her hips in the gypsy way she had learned once, when the song ended. Frowning up at the band, the lead singer smiled at her and she laughed, grinning back cheekily, hoping Jaxon didn't notice. Or perhaps she was hoping he did notice - it wasn't to make him jealous, merely to show him how fun she was. As the singer started out with a mash up of "Meet me on the Equinox" and "I will Possess your Heart" (both by Death Cab for Cutie), she spun in slow circles, then offered her hand to Jax. "Come join me!" She called.

Jaxon put his head down shyly when Naveah put her hand out for him. He wasn't at all shy about dancing, and was in fact quite the party-er. He WAS, however, shy about going out to dance with Naveah. It made him feel like a little kid inside. He'd never been asked to dance before.. and so, he was blushing rather hard and smiling like a two year old.
After a couple seconds, he slowly got up and went to her, taking her hand and pulling her close. "I've never danced with a girl," he said through a weak smile. "So.. you gotta show me what to do." True, he had never danced with a girl, but that didn't mean he didn't know that he had to pull her close. Placing his hands around her waist, Jaxon did just so: pulled her close until their stomachs were touching. "What from here?" he asked, their noses almost touching they were so close.
This was all so familiar. Not the dancing, but the closeness. The last time he'd been this close to Naveah.. they'd kissed. For quite a long while. "And don't forget our foods on the way!" he said rather abruptly.

Naveah gasped as he pulled her closer; sure, she'd been like this with Jaxon before, but this was different. It had been so long... she had almost forgotten what if felt like to be nose to nose with the boy she had once had a crush on. She was trying not to squirm in his grasp; it was so unusual to be touching Jaxon like this. His hands were warm and heavy against her waist, which made her realize even more now that this was real, she could feel him and he was holding her and he wasn't some figment of her fantasies - they were really on a date.
Reaching up, she put her hands on his shoulders, trying not to put too much distance between them. She didn't want to have to be an inch farther from him, but putting her hands up sort of pulled them a little bit apart. They weren't so connected anymore, and it made her want to just pull him closer - but she didn't. "You know, you danced at me once... back in high school? Except it wasn't like this, of course - fast dancing, not slow. Still counts as dancing with a girl, though." She smiled, and the urge to kiss him came on so suddenly, she couldn't help it. She moved her hands so that she could lean in, her stomach pressed against his once more, chin gently angled so that she could reach his lips. She was so close, her nose actually touching his, mouth just a few centimeters away - she could actually feel his breath on her lips - when he suddenly mentioned the food and she pulled away.
Dropping her hands, she broke out of his gasp, smiling nervously, almost sadly. She was cursing herself in her mind for trying to kiss him. He probably thought she was some whore, practically begging for attention on the first date. Making her way back to the table as the song ended, she sat down just as the waitress came back, balancing their food plates in one hand and their drinks in the other. Quickly, Naveah grabbed a glass and filled it with Arak, not even watering it down. She was embarrassed and shy again all of the sudden.

Jaxon sort of frowned when she pulled away, secretly kicking himself in the balls for suddenly speaking. What the fuck, Jaxon, he repeated in his head as they went back to the table just as the waitress arrived. "Oh good timing," he said kind of quietly, actually wishing their food hadn't come yet so he could give Naveah the kiss he'd felt coming just before his stomach spoke.
The waitress took a moment to set everything down, having a rather hard time bending all the way down to the table in those skyscraper heels. He wasn't interested, that was true, but Jaxon was sure to keep his gaze set on Naveah the whole time so she wouldn't get any jealous ideas. Once she'd finished with all the plates and drinks, Jaxon smiled at her and uttered a small 'thank you' before she walked away.
(this is where i assume they're sitting in a booth) Standing up, Jaxon went to the other side of the table and sat down next to Naveah, pulling his food over. "I know its really cute to sit across from your date cuz you can like.. look them in the eyes and shit but.. I'd rather do this," he said before turning her face towards his and planting a rather long kiss upon her lips. "Sorry 'bout that on the dance floor.." he added after he pulled back a little bit.

Naveah gasped when he moved over to kiss her. She hadn't been expecting it, really; she thought that moment had passed, but apparently... it hadn't. She didn't really kiss back at first, as the shock took over her system. She went rigid with surprise, eyes wide open, heart fluttering. After a moment though, she closed her eyes and leaned into the kiss more, trying to think back to how they'd done it in high school. She wasn't going to make out with him like she had that first night, but she could just... kiss him. Her mouth against his was filling her with that warmth she had once felt again, like she had swallowed the sun and it was making her crazy. Why was he so good at this?
When he pulled back a bit, Naveah turned away, blushing. Her hair fell in front of her face in a black curtain, hiding her wide eyes and small smile. She was sure her heart was beating so loud, he could probably hear it. Quickly, she grabbed the cup of Arak and took a rather large gulp, wincing. It was like she had just downed a glass of sweet fire - it was sugary and yet spicey and hot, and she was regretting not watering it down. 60% might have been a bad choice.
"No, don't apologize for the dance thing... At least we got a little bit of fun in. I'm sorry for..." For what? Leaning in and almost kissing you, then running away? For not knowing what to do, for being so flustered around you? She paused, thinking about it. "I guess I'm sorry for that almost-kiss we had out there. I shouldn't have started something I couldn't finish - I'm super nervous tonight." She looked down, blushing madly, hoping he wouldn't notice because her hair was in front of her face.

"Don't be nervous," Jaxon said as he stuck a finger through her hair and moved it back behind her ear. "If anyones to be nervous its me. I mean, I, the ugly duckling, have to sit here with the most beautiful girl I've ever seen," he said gently, kissing her again on the cheek and taking a sip of the arak.
"Holy fuck that's strong!" he announced before nearly dropping the glass on the table. He sat for a moment, eyes wide, thinking hard. "But I'm gonna have more," he said quietly, a devious smile creeping up his face. "Another for you?" he asked after poring himself another glass.

Naveah blushed harder, but looked up when he kissed her. She reached a hand up and positioned her hair, tucking on side behind her ear so she could see him clearly. She wasn't sure what was up with Jaxon but... there was just something between them that she liked. "You? An ugly duckling?" She asked, incredulous. "Did you just call your beautiful self something that's not along the guidelines of 'perfectly gorgeous'?" She laughed, trying not to be too awkward about saying that - it was supposed to be a high compliment.
Taking another sip of the Arak, she grimaced - he was right, it was really strong. Reaching for the pitcher of water they had set out with the alcohol, she grinned at Jaxon. "Watch this, I've learned some more magic." she joked, pouring in the water and observing the alcohol go from a crystal clear to a milky white in seconds. "Awesome, right?"
