Kasten opened his mouth to tell Brooke that since they were already at the clinic it would be wise to just get the prescription now rather than drive out here on another day, but she beat him to it. Well, she didn't really say anything, she just asked him a question and then answered it herself. Impressive. She didn't need a second opinion on what to do.
He stared at her with wide eyes when she casually slipped out the news. A boyfriend? That might've been a useful thing to tell him before he decided to stay. Brooke obviously didn't need him. Couldn't they just raise the kid as their own? Irrational thoughts ran through his mind, but Kasten took a deep breath and came up with one conclusion: No. No one would take his place as Prescott's father. If Brooke had a steady relationship, then so be it. Kasten would leave the two alone and do his best to give them their space.
"Oh, that's cool," he mumbled again, glancing around at his surroundings. Now where was that candy tray again? Ah, at the front desk! Kasten shifted his son to his right arm, which was so large that it was practically a bed for Prescott. Then, he grabbed a handful of various hard candies and stuffed them into his pocket.

Brooke felt a tad guilty that she hadn't told him about Clark before asking him to stay but she just hadn't thought about it... Maybe because deep down she knew that whatever she had with Clark couldn't even begin to compare to what she had with Kasten. "Yeah...." She glanced over to him as he grabbed the hard candies. "Stealing, Mr. Hunter?" She teased playfully as she looked to their son who looked comfortable in his father's arms. "You two look really good together." She felt like he needed to hear it since she had been so harsh to him earlier and acted as if he couldn't be a good father. Who was she to tell him that he wasn't going to stick around when she hadn't even given him a proper chance?
"Clark and I aren't... We aren't in love yet... I don't think. I mean the sex is terrible and he has a temper especially when he's been drinking and sometimes he gets a little rough with me but it's never enough to leave a mark or anything so I guess it's okay." She stopped herself from saying anything else when she realized that she was beginning to sound less and less like the strong woman that she wanted him to see her as. "I mean.. I hit him back so it's okay, right? I mean it's not like he'd seriously kill me even if I do sometimes get a little scared when he's really angry." She nodded before glancing at the others in front of them in the line.. She suddenly wished that they were next already so they could get to her apartment and she wouldn't have to deal with the fact that she had just admitted to Kasten that her boyfriend hit her when he drank.
She needed to resume her strong girl image! But how? How was she suppose to recover from the fact that she had told him that she was in an abusive relationship? Why had she even told him that? It was something that she was so desperate to hide from the rest of the world yet she just opened right up to him.

Once the candies were secured in his pocket, Kasten moved Prescott back to his original position, holding him with both hands. "What, they're free," he shrugged his big shoulders. "It's the Hunter gene. We're gorgeous people. You can get a gold sticker for helping, though," Kasten clicked his tongue and gave her a wink.
At the mention of Clark's name, he wanted to just tune her out. Kasten was in no way interested in the love life of anyone else, let alone his baby mama. However, he forced himself to listen because he didn't want to be rude. After all, this woman just offered him a place to stay—a much better place than his own in the Bronx. He never had a break-in or any encounter of that sort, but Kasten had three handguns and a shotgun in addition to his multiple Gerber knives. He was prepared for anything. Of course, the two would have to childproof everything once Prescott could walk.
Kasten snorted when Brooke said that sex with Clark was terrible. How do you even fail at sex? Even monkeys knew how to have good sex. When she admitted that her boyfriend got a little violent especially after drinking, he just stared at her. 'I mean.. I hit him back so it's okay, right?' Did she really just that? Kasten didn't say anything, he just watched Brooke as she told her story. What could he even say? 'Dump his sorry ass and come to me?' Kasten was promiscuous, but he wasn't a homewrecker.
This was their problem and he was in no position to interfere. However, if Brooke so much as got a scratch, Kasten was taking that asshole down. He despised men who hit women with every fiber of his being and hitting someone he cared for was just asking for it.

Brooke was relieved when Kasten didn't comment on the fact that she was in an abusive relationship even if she was pretty sure that he was judging her in his head. How could she be so stupid? She wanted him to see her as this strong individual who could do anything and everything on her own but... she wasn't. She was weak and damaged which was why she and Kasten would never work. He deserved to have the kind of woman that he wanted to have even if that meant that she didn't get to be with him.
Still... she leaned her weight against his strong body and let out a content sigh. "Sorry.... just a little tired." She murmured an apology as she gently shut her eyes and clung just a little tighter to him. They must have looked like quite a sight with her snuggled up against him and their three week old nestled comfortably in his arms. She honestly didn't mind if people saw them and assumed that they were an item.. maybe because it was all that she wanted especially now that there was a baby involved. They could be a family... a real family but not if that meant that he felt obligated to be with her for Prescott's sake because that was the very last thing that she wanted. "I'm sorry that you have to wait like this." She hadn't realized how long that it would take before they got in line.
She wanted to ask him if he had anyone special in his life but she knew how jealous that she was going to sound if she did. "So.... would your girlfriend mind this?" What if he was in a relationship with someone who hated their son? Or just... was better than her? "I just want to know... just for Prescott's sake, of course." Why did the idea of him having someone bother her so much? She was with someone! But she also knew her relationship was very different from what his would be unless he had somehow became an abusive ass.

Kasten knew that he was rather hard on Brooke for not being independent enough in high school, but so many years have passed and so many things have changed. He would never admit it (maybe not right now) to her face, but he was really hoping that they could give each other another chance at being together. It would certainly make things easier on little Prescott and besides, they were 15, what did they know about love?
"It's alright," he said to Brooke, referring to her leaning on him. "I don't mind the wait," he smiled. Kasten wasn't exactly the world's most patient man, but he knew that it wouldn't be the last time that they would have to wait in line for something baby-related. His mind wandered by to his hopes of becoming a family with Brooke and Prescott, but his thoughts were constantly interrupted by this mystery man "Clark."
He raised an eyebrow at her question and without missing a beat, replied, "My girlfriend? Oh, she would flip her shit!" Kasten cleared his throat and looked down at the ground when the other mothers turned around to glare at him for using profanity in the presence of children. "If I had one," he added, smiling mischievously.

Brooke nearly screamed when she heard him say that his girlfriend would flip her shit if she knew about this and then he added his last bit and she rolled her eeys though she smiled to show that she wasn't actually upset about what he had said. "Yeah yeah yeah..." She leaned up to him and planted a gentle kiss on the side of his face, "You look even more handsome than you did back in high school and I didn't think that was even possible." She looked somewhat innocent on the front. She was just snuggled up to his side but her hand was slipping dangerously close to his rear. She just wanted to see if it was as nice and firm as she imagined that it was. What would one little squeeze hurt?
She didn't want him to get the wrong idea yet she was still rubbing his ass which was a tad sexual. The only reason that she stopped was because they were next in line but luckily getting the perscription took only a minute and a half so it wasn't a big deal. She turned to Kasten after she had the package with the drops in her hands and tried to think if there was anything that she needed to do before they headed to the apartment. "Kasten.. Do you wanna come back to my place now? I mean... Our place." Wow, had she really just said that? Clark had been asking her if he could move in for the past two years and she kept saying no but something about Kasten was different.
She had a baby with this man! "I can cook you something nice when we get there and you can see my bedroom..... My bed.... My body." She whispered that, of course, so that none of the paranoid mothers would hear her. Had she really just invited him to get to know her body again? What was she even doing? She had a boyfriend. But like John Mayor said, her body is a wonderland.

Kasten gave a cheeky grin when Brooke complimented him. "Well, thank you," he said, pretending to be modest. He wasn't the conceited type to stand in front of the bathroom mirror and flex at himself all day, but he was quite proud of how he was able to bulk up and maintain it. Although his arms were already muscular and a bit too big for his body back in high school, his body was more proportional now that he had defined nearly every muscle he had—including the glutes. It didn't bother him at all that she was touching him inappropriately. In fact, if they weren't at a children's doctor's office, he might've encouraged it.
"Sure," he nodded. If he was going to move in with Brooke, he might as well take a look at the apartment first, right? More importantly, he wanted to get her and Prescott home quickly so that they could rest. When she said "our place," Kasten glanced over at her. "I can pay rent if it helps," he offered. Even if he was staying with her to be with their son, he didn't mind paying because he would've paid anyway at his own apartment and because he would be using her resources.
His eyebrows rose to their fullest at her rather suggestive offer. This was all Brooke, he told himself defensively. He hadn't made a move since she told him about Clark. "That's cute," he said nonchalantly. "Let's go, then," Kasten gave a sly grin.
